Oh god. Youmacon is less then 3 weeks away. I NEED TO GET SO MUCH STUFF DONE RIGHT NOW. Out of the 3 costumes slated to be done, only 1 is done (and still there are some tweaks with it). The others....not so much. I haven't even started on my sailor suit yet, and my fabric for my ball gown is in shipping limbo right now. Theoretically I'll get it done. I've got check lists and everything. I've just to to be able to get them all done in the time slots I've estimated or I'm in trouble.
Just someone move the tea kettle downstairs by my workstation. I'm not going to be leaving it anytime soon

Another con?
I've really been trying to go to more conventions this year. In the past I've only really gone to 2 or so a year. But since I'm actually making an effort to work on costumes, and make more of them, attending more conventions has become kinda important to me.
So when a friend told me about Glass City Con, its.....LETS GO!
I just need to see if the people I talked to earlier, can still manage to make it to the convention with me and are willing to help with the Hawkgirl outfit.
Survived Colossalcon- ON TO THE NEXT
I'm back from Colossalcon and I can DEFINITELY say I am coming back next year!! This place had a vibe to it that I've never seen before. But now I'm back home, and reality is demanding my attention again. Back to school and work, and time to do repair work on the costumes and start on some new ones in time for Youmacon. The hard part is going to be narrowing down what I'm going to start working on (and how much do I want to needlessly complicate what could be an otherwise normal costume).
Two weeks and counting
Alright, two weeks to the next conventions and its prop and costume maintenance time! I'm working on an alternative version of the Hawkgirl helmet, since I scrapped the first attempt (too bulky for the costume) and trying a foam and hardware cloth test type. There are some other things that need to get done, like the vambraces and sewing down the utility belt pouches- but should work out pretty easily.
The harder part is going to try and motivate my brother to finish fixing his props earlier than the night before the convention...again.
But in the mean time, I'll just keep plugging away on the props and wait to hear back from the staff abou
Devious Journal Entry
Wow, I just now realized how busy I've been lately with absolutely no new pictures to put up. Thankfully school and the drama/chaos that comes with it is almost at an end and I will have some more free time to canoodle with the internet and to finally fix my scanner. :D
